How To Enjoy Your Tropical Storm Day Properly

Now if you don't know already, tropical storm Hermine is currently causing havoc along the east coast of the United States. My current location has a tropical storm warning in effect which is causing the cancellation of many schools and closing of many businesses for today. Being born and raised in the southern east coast, this is definitely not my first tropical storm. I've actually had the lovely experience of being inside my house during a hurricane.

Tropical storms don't really worry me too much in terms of life threatening. The biggest danger comes with the flooding, especially around my area. My specific condo complex does not flood too bad so that is something I don't have to worry about too much.

I have a routine for my "tropical storm days" that I love to follow. Storms and rain are my favorite things ever so an entire day of it is basically heaven for me. So I am going to teach you how to enjoy your tropical storm days and/or weather days properly from my perspective.

#1: Stay in your bed for as long as possible without you going insane.

The whole point of stormy weather is to enjoy it in your bed. My true happy place is laying in bed listening to the rain and thunder outside my window. I really don't know anything as relaxing as that. So the morning of, you will wake up to thunder and rain. Stay in bed. At least a couple more hours. Now is the time to enjoy it.

#2: Order your favorite food the night before so you can chow on it the entire day.

For me, this is pizza. So the night before the storm I order pizza, eat a little of it and save the rest for the next day. While you are enjoying the bed time, you might as well be eating your favorite food. Just try not to make a mess in your bed. That is the ABSOLUTE worse.

#3: Do those chores that you never want to do.

You know all that cleaning, washing and organizing you put off doing for the longest time? Well now is the time to do them. You are stuck inside your place for the entire day, might as well be productive. This is of course after you decide to get out of bed. Be productive!

#4: Begin a new hobby

For me, this is blogging. The best time to create some amazing posts is when I am happy and creative. Aka during the storm. You could start blogging as well or maybe learn a dance routine or start coloring something? Oh all the options! Why not take this time to do that?

#5: Catch up on school work

Now if you really want to be productive you could catch up on school work. I personally need to do this, but who the hell knows if I will. Maybe put it off till tomorrow? hahaha true procrastination.

Does this help at all? Let me know if you have ever been part of a tropical storm or ever had a tropical storm party?
